, Arlen
performed alongside Sammy Davis Jr., Maurice Chevalier, Jack Benny and Sir
Laurence Olivier in a Royal Command Performance before Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II and received similar honors from Princess Marina, President De
Gaulle, Prince Ranier and President Helou.
Ex rugby player
Arlen made his professional debut with the B.B.C. in
London
, and soon became a favorite
of radio listeners and television viewers, coming in second in the Eurovision
Song Contest in 1961.
His version of Make
Someone Happy made the charts in
Britain.
Numerous club dates,
including a three year stint starring at
London 's Talk of the Town. Other
nightclub appearances have included the Lido de Paris (Paris), the Sporting Club
de Monte Carlo (Monte Carlo ), the
Casino du Liban (Beirut ) and the
Dunes Hotel (Las Vegas ).
Mr. Arlen had
several French hit records and speaks fluent French.
Arlen was seen in

Musical Stories of Harry Chapin. He starred in the World Premier of Songs of War and the West Coast
Productions of The Cardinal Detoxes
and Sleuth.
Television viewers
may remember him from Growing
Pains, Young Riders,NewsRadio and The
Liz Taylor Story.
His 'One man
musical', "VIII, Henry that is!" about Henry VIII's 'after death' was produced at his own Off Broadwat
Theater the Tribeca Playhouse to rave reviews and is now being made into a
feature film.
Mr. Arlen is an
active member of Optimist International, "Friend of
Youth".
